To cap off the year of turnaround school coverage, we asked the question: Have the worst performing schools in the Las Vegas Valley improved at all? Here are some photos from the Chaparral, Mojave and Western High School commencement ceremonies earlier this month that prove just one thing: The students that did graduate were pretty excited and emotional about it.

Graduation Fun
It's that time of year again. Here are shots of Chaparral High School students rehearsing for their commencement ceremony and picking up their caps and gowns for the big day. And don't fret... there are more shots from actual graduation day coming soon! Right now I'm almost done editing through the 1,800 photos I shot at the Chaparral, Mojave and Western High School commencement ceremonies this week and last. Graduation!

Fresh Reid
Got some fresh shots of Harry Reid the other day during the State Democratic Party Convention at Bally's. I was in love with the blue and red lit curtains near to entrance to the stage, and was determined to make some sort of photo incorporating them. If it's not obvious, it was not the most exciting assignment...just speaker after speaker after speaker for almost four hours. Thanks to Harry for standing still for so long next to the curtains!

Airport, Airport, Airport!
I didn't get to shoot any Electric Daisy Carnival last week or the big Pacquiao fight, but I did have three days in a row of assignments at the airport! I'm not complaining though. Sometimes the airport can be just as fun as a drug-fueled dance festival. See if you can match the photo to the assignment:
-Air Force One duty
-Taxis getting busted for long hauling from the airport
-Terminal 3 open house

Free Society
What can I call this event? Burlesque bondage comedy with singing and body painted interpretive dance? Gospel revival plus strip tease? Synchronized swimming with booze? Fetish fire spinning with live DJ sets? It's hard to describe what happened at the "Free Society" event at the Artisan last Thursday. Hopefully Andrea Dominick's review and my photos can shed a little bit of light on the situation.
